If you are a music lover, getting into the seemingly infinite collection of tracks from SoundCloud is likely to be one of the many ways you get to maximize your gadget. But have you come across NASA’s SoundCloud account?
Well, now that you know about, we bet you’re very curious about what type of music astronauts like… Here’s a clue: it’s out of this world, literally.

Want to hear more? Here is a list of our top 3 tracks

1. Earthsong

Our favourite jam is apparently everyone else’s favourite too! The Earthsong is by far the most popular track in NASA’s SoundCloud stream. Earthsong cannot be heard directly by the human ear because it’s at a frequency well above the audible range, but when a radio catches it, we all get to enjoy the sound. What is it actually? It’s the sound produced by plasma waves in Earth’s radiation belts. Many liken the sound to birdsongs, hence the name “Earthsong”.

2. Saturn FM
Captured by the Cassini spacecraft in 2002, ‘Saturn radio’ sounds just like how an Earthen aurora would sound, if the Aurora Borealis did make sounds.

3. “Houston, we’ve had a problem”
Not only is this track a snippet right out of the history books, it also corrects the iconic line we’ve all mistakenly known as “Houston, we have a problem.”
